Version 1.01 Update
Nira (old prototype) » Devlog
Hello!
It's been roughly two and a half months since the EECS 494 + EMU showcase. During this time, we've gotten so much love and feedback on our SolarPunk Momentum Platforming game. Today, we're putting out a patch that adds features, fixes bugs, puts us closer to the experience we intended to make. Here are the things we changed:
- Gamepad Support! Our demo now supports controllers. We currently have support for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch controllers. We're still testing our gamepad controls, so any feedback on how the game controls is appreciated.
- Level Changes: We've tweaked the level in response to player feedback. We removed moving platforms from the level, as we felt waiting on a platform doesn't fit with the momentum-based experience we want to make. In addition, we've adjusted the death triggers, ensuring that you never have to wait more than a couple of seconds after falling off the platform to restart.
- Settings Menu Overhaul: Our settings now save between play sessions! Like your sensitivity just the right amount of high/low? Want your audio in a specific way? You no longer have to fiddle with the settings every playthrough, just set it once and you're done. In addition, we've added settings for VSync and inverting the camera controls
- Bug Fixes and Minor Tweaks: We've fixed various bugs and tweaked minor things, including
- The hoverstaff controls are now inverted when upside down
- The jitter is reduced when respawning
- Respawns work correctly when dying before the first checkpoint
- Increased the volume of the wind when approaching the tower
- Tweaked the checkpoints in the challenge level
